433A Industrial Millwright Mechanic Apprentice Opportunity

Well-established employers across Ontario are looking to hire 433A Industrial Millwright Mechanic Apprentices. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a great team atmosphere and learn the trade.

 

Position Purpose:

The Millwright Apprentice Technician will be responsible for maintaining the equipment in the facility, in all areas of the facility including but not limited to, the production floor, warehouse, terminal, chemical unloading and the office area. This individual is to perform a variety of low-medium skilled maintenance, both indoors and outdoors in possible increment weather. The main responsibility will be to provide technical support and assistance to the operations and management team whenever required. He/she will strive for continuous improvement of the production process. The individual will work closely with operations, quality, as well as the health and safety department to collaboratively make continual improvements in day to day operations.

Key responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshooting equipment
  • Routine lubrication of equipment
  • Ordering maintenance supplies/ parts
  • Following preventative maintenance program for equipment & facility
  • Assisting with equipment installations
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safety of maintenance shop and facility
  • Operation of forklift (experience and/ or forklift operator certificate required)

Qualifications:

  • One to two years experience
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Able to work in a team and to handle priorities under pressure
  • Mechanical maintenance experience is necessary and preferably currently working towards a millwright apprentice
  • Strong understanding and conscious of safe work practices
  • Available to attend schooling and attain Journeyperson certification within a specified time period
