Weekend Production Supervisor

 

Friday to Sunday | 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Location: Springhill, Nova Scotia

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Weekend Production Supervisor to lead operations and ensure clear communication, continuity, and cooperation between shifts. This role requires a strong communicator who can work independently, make sound decisions without on-site management support, and ensure that information flows accurately from shift to shift.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining consistency, accountability, and teamwork across production teams.

Proper safety gear (Fitted, Half-Face silicone respirator) is a requirement and must be worn at all times in Manufacturing Areas.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate weekend production activities with a strong on-floor presence
  • Ensure clear, timely, and accurate shift-to-shift communication, including handovers and follow-ups
  • Communicate production status, issues, and priorities to weekday leadership and other shifts
  • Promote cooperation and consistency between teams by reinforcing expectations and standard practices
  • Ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are met
  • Lead, coach, and support production employees on shift
  • Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and standard operating practices
  • Identify and resolve production issues independently, escalating only when necessary
  • Document key events, decisions, and issues to ensure continuity

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in a production or manufacturing supervisory role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to make decisions, manage priorities, and resolve issues in real time
  • Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of workplace safety and quality expectations

Preferred but not required:

  • Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (asset, not mandatory)
