Job Title: Event Server at Yellowhawk Resort/Walla Walla Steak Co.

Reports To: Events Manager

Pay Structure: Hourly/Non-exempt

Part-Time as scheduled/On-Call


We have a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to join our events team. The restaurant boasts its abilities to accommodate private events from 2-300 guests, and hosts events ranging from corporate meetings to a full wedding ceremony and reception. This is a great opportunity for an experienced server to get their foot in the door with a growing, dynamic team.  Results, integrity, and teamwork are important for success in this position.


Minimum Requirements

       Work consistent with Walla Walla Steak Co’s values and expectations

       Effectively communicate in a welcoming and professional manner

       Ability to build/maintain a relationship with customers in a short period of time

       Ability to work well as part of a team

       Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

       Ability to work weekends and holidays, flexibility in schedule desirable

       Must strictly follow the Preparedness plan and safety protocols


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

       Set up event space according to event specification

       Serve food to guests in multiple service styles including standing reception, buffet, family style, and multi-course plated service

       Provide beverage service including tray-pass as well as wine table-side

       Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods

       Identify dietary restrictions, and communicate with event manager/captain to accommodate guests

       Maintain table cleanliness and clear items as necessary or directed by event manager/captain

       Prepare guests table setting for following course

       Check with guests to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems

       Check patrons' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages

       Clean tables after patrons have finished dining

       Break down event furniture and equipment and return to appropriate storage areas


Preferred Education, Experience and Skills

       Two years of experience in fine dining, high volume restaurant or catering


Physical Demands and Work Environment

       Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time

       Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with unexpected situations

       Must be able to lift, balance, and carry plates of food

       Must be able to lift cases of wine on a daily basis

       Must be able to use both hands to handle, grasp, move and control objects, tools and equipment operations

       Must be able to bend or twist body

       Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds

       Ability to transport equipment up to 40 pounds

       Must be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

       Must be able to work outside in varying temperature

       Must be able to work in rough and uneven terrain
