Precision Grounds Landscaping and Construction is located in Collingwood, Ontario. We are looking for 2 LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION LABOURERS to join our team this spring. No previous experience required (but beneficial). We are looking for dedicated and reliable people, who want to broaden their skills and build a career in this industry, and grow with our company. A Landscape Labourer is responsible for performing a variety of work tasks (generally physical labor) to assist with the completion of landscape construction projects. The landscape laborer will be required to operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specific job tasks. No related landscaping experience required.



  • Willingness to work outdoors in ever changing weather conditions
  • Must be able to stand, bend, or crouch/kneel repeatedly and for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks, including ability to lift 30-50lbs repeatedly throughout a work shift
  • Must be able to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and materials
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
  • Effective communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
  • Be able to learn quickly about specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices
  • Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
  • Provide polite and compassionate client service

  • Assist in the preparation of job sites prior to the beginning of a project
  • Operate various tools and equipment, including: chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.
  • Assist in the construction of stone work, plantings, lighting & landscape features.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required to complete landscape construction projects
  • Transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and hand lifting/carrying
  • Assist foreman with job-related tasks
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
  • Comply with all company policies and regulations
  • Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations


  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Job requires good manual dexterity and stamina
  • Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold

  • Hourly wage $18 - $22 per hour depending on level of skill and experience
