Welcome To Canadian Electric - Applying For The Electrical Estimator & Project Manager Position

This position requires the ability to visualize a project by reviewing specification and drawings through various phases of construction and provide a detailed estimate of the project costs with state of the art estimating software for both Commercial and Residential applications 

Responsibilities:

1. Source new project tenders though electrical procurement portals
2. Review and understand tender specifications and drawings
3. Attending pre-tender site meetings to review scope of work and meet with clients
4. Preparing takeoffs and formalize estimates for new electrical projects 
5. Engage suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing to incorporate into estimates
6. Obtaining bidders list and preparing lead letters
7. Produce all costs for tender submission - material, labour, equipment, subcontractor through estimating software to develop accurate quotations
8. Participate in closing the bid, including bid review meeting, etc.
9. Assists with Prequalification, RFQ's and RFI submissions as required 
10. Reviewing all contracts and accepted quotations, reviewing CCDC Documents 
11. Reviewing and circulating shop drawings 
12. Preparing purchase order to vendors and suppliers  
13. Managing, reviewing and organizing change directives, site instruction and change orders.
14. Preparing prices for extras or credits associated with each change. 
15. Staying aware and informed of all new materials or techniques by attending material manufacturer's seminars, trade shows, etc 

Qualifications:

1. 2 years electrical estimating experience required
2. Experience with Accubid estimating software - Bidwinner, Live Count and Change order  
3. Strong blueprint reading skills
4. Strong communication and organizational skills
5. Excellent time management skills
