Landscape Construction lead hand
- Operation of equipment such as stone saws, jack hammers, drills etc
- Operation of machinery such as skid steerer, excavator, trucks and trailers
- Ability to read, comprehend and carry out landscape designs
- Ability to organize and delegate tasks to crew members
- Must be able to report all aspects of construction phases to foreman/management
- Produce high quality work (masonry, patio grading etc.)
- Carrying bricks and lumber, pushing wheelbarrows
- Digging and raking for long durations
- Reporting on time, daily to the foreman/management
- Safely operate a truck with trailer on a daily basis
- Load and unload work trucks
- Maintaining/cleaning of work trucks and tools/equipment
- Properly care for tools/equipment on job site to avoid loss or misuse
- Ensure that all PPE is worn in compliance with company and legislative regulations
This is a full-time, year round position including winter season snow removal which entails:
- Plowing parking lots and roadways for our commercial and residential sites
- Organizing and overseeing sidewalk/salting crews
- Must be available and on-call with 24 hours notice prior to snow removal shifts
Responsibilities:
- Leading jobsites and overseeing important aspects of high end landscape construction jobs
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required to complete construction services on various sites within a crew
- Full service hardscape construction for residential, commercial and multi-residential customers
- Daily tasks include: operating machinery, driving trucks and trailers, carrying/laying brick, natural stone chiseling/mortaring, mixing mortar, loading/pushing wheel barrows, digging, raking and other hardscape construction duties
- Inspect vehicles and equipment daily to ensure safe operation
- Speak with clients in a professional manner
- Cooperate with crew leader and other employees
Requirements:
- Experience in landscape/hardscape construction
- Product and material knowledge
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid G class Driver’s License
- Ability to perform physically demanding work
- Able to work and lead in a team environment
- Professional demeanor when interacting with customers and co-workers
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $17.00-$22.00 per hour
