306A Plumber Apprenticeship Opportunity in Hamilton

 
 
An established, local plumbing contractor is looking to hire a hardworking and honest team member for work in the Hamilton area. This is an opportunity for a talented, dynamic and experienced Plumbing Apprentice (3rd, 4th or 5th year) to build a career with a close knit and expanding team. Must have a good standing with OCOT and be able to work in industrial, commercial and institutional areas.

DUTIES, REQUIREMENTS & BENEFITS

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed plumbers to read blueprints and install, repair and maintain plumbing fixtures and systems. Tasks include determining pipe positions, passage holes and fixtures, cutting openings, joining pipes, testing, and measuring, cutting, threading and bending pipes to suit.

  • Work with project managers, office staff and customers to accurately complete work orders and projects 

  • Identify, troubleshoot and present technical issues in a clear and concise manner  

  • Solid knowledge and comprehension of the Ontario Plumber Code 

  • Customer service
  • Operate tools and equipment  in a competent & safe manner

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications and Requirements 
  • Organization/planning abilities and a great communicator 

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Tenacity and the determination to get things done in a timely manner 

  • Self-sufficient, analytical and advanced problem-solving skills 

  • Comfortable using tablets & software to operate in a paperless environment
  • Valid Ontario G class driver’s license with a good driving record and own vehicle 

  • Safety certified for working in construction (WAH, WHMIS, Workers Health & Safety)
