Welcome To Tree Valley Garden Centre Ltd - Applying For The Delivery Driver Position

We are looking to hire for our 2023 season!

We are looking for experienced, safety-conscious drivers who have excellent customer service skills and can keep up with our fast paced environment. We are a team-orientated company and successful candidates will be willing to work in alternative positions/perform different tasks as requested by upper management including planting and working on location as a labourer. The ideal candidate displays a positive attitude when interacting with customers and co-workers as well as being a dependable and hardworking member of the team. Our drivers need to feel proficient in driving large trucks (5-ton truck and/or cube van) in downtown Toronto, suburban and rural neighborhoods.

Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:
Ensure vehicles meet MTO standards before starting the day deliveries
Be able to efficiently navigate the GTA and beyond, to deliver products to customers in a timely manner
Drive & deliver products in all types of weather
Provide excellent customer service and respect the property of our customers
Ensure vehicles are cleaned and fueled for the next day deliveries
*Other duties as assigned by upper management

Qualification and skills

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and hold a G class license with a clean driving abstract.
Experience driving a truck or cube van in a variety of different road and weather conditions.
Ability to adapt and prioritize multiple tasks and situations with effective time management skills.
You are punctual and dependable, and highly value honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
Prior experience working in customer-facing roles.
Forklift experience is an asset.
Experience with planting large trees is an asset
Experience with delivering lose bulk product i.e. soil, mulch is an asset
First aid certificate is an asset
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and bending, twisting, sitting and standing for long periods of times
Work in a variety of weather conditions.
Willingness to learn about plant product to provide correct client education
This position is required to work weekdays, as well as occasional weekends as scheduled.
