Project SEARCH Instructor
(starting January 2025)
Project SEARCH is an exciting work-focused transition program for young adults labeled with an intellectual disability and/or autism. This endeavour, where students and teacher are embedded within a professional work setting, is the first of its kind in PEI. The lead organization, Tremploy Inc., is a non-profit that supports people with intellectual disabilities to work & participate in the community.
The Project SEARCH Instructor will provide employment-related instruction, job coaching and related transition services to students enrolled in Project SEARCH. Responsibilities include assisting with student recruitment, coordinating referrals, attending meetings, developing and providing job readiness curricula, working with Coordinator and business/host site personnel to identify appropriate training rotations, providing coaching to students and support to site host personnel, and providing supervision for job coaches supporting the students. The Instructor will work as part of a team with Coordinator, host site staff and school divisions to implement Project SEARCH at the host site, and will ensure implementation of student transition plans. The Instructor will report to the Executive Director of Tremploy Inc.
Salary Range: $45k to $60k per year

- Experience supporting students with work experiences, as well as transitions into adult life, preferred.
