Steak Co. in Walla Walla, Washington, is seeking a dynamic and accomplished Executive Chef to lead our culinary team in creating unforgettable experiences for both visitors and local residents. As our Executive Chef, you will be the culinary visionary behind our renowned restaurant, driving innovation while honoring classic steakhouse traditions. You will lead a talented team of culinary professionals, oversee all kitchen operations, and play an integral role in our private dining and special events. Your leadership will be essential in upholding Steak Co.'s vision, policies, procedures, and standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire the culinary team to deliver consistently exceptional food quality and presentation
  • Develop innovative menus that honor steakhouse traditions while incorporating contemporary culinary trends
  • Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, plating, inventory management, and food safety compliance
  • Manage private dining and special events execution, ensuring seamless, memorable experiences
  • Collaborate with front-of-house leadership to create cohesive guest experiences
  • Maintain rigorous standards for food quality, consistency, and presentation across all service periods
  • Build and mentor a high-performing culinary team through effective training, coaching, and leadership
  • Drive financial performance through strategic budgeting, cost control, and waste reduction
  • Analyze financial reports, labor costs, and food costs to optimize profitability
  • Stay current with culinary trends, seasonal ingredients, and industry innovations
  • Partner with management on sales and marketing initiatives to drive business growth
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Foster a positive, productive, and collaborative kitchen culture

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Sous Chef in upscale dining, preferably fine dining or steakhouse environments
  • Extensive experience with private dining and special events execution
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated expertise in budget management, P&L analysis, cost controls, and financial reporting
  • Creative culinary skills with a track record of successful menu development and execution
  • Exceptional leadership abilities with experience identifying, training, and developing culinary talent
  • Deep understanding of current food and beverage trends, sales and marketing strategies, and industry developments
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across all departments
  • Commitment to hospitality excellence and creating memorable guest experiences
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred
  • Food handler's certification and knowledge of health and safety regulations required

Compensation: $85,000-$95,000 annually (DOE)
