Job Description Outside Cemetery Employees
Basic functions and duties:
To carry out, as directed by the Superintendent, all manner of work required for grounds, equipment, building maintenance, construction projects and interment services, in a safe, efficient and dignified manner.
Internal contacts:
The Outside Employee reports directly to the Superintendent or in his absence the cemetery Administrator.
External contacts:
The Employee must deal with the visiting public, funeral directors and contractors in a polite, professional manner. The Employee may not recommend or act as an agent for any personal or cemetery related service while on the grounds.
Basic qualifications:
Read and write English, Valid drivers, Able to carry out physically demanding tasks. Reliable, Polite, Neat appearance. Able to work some Sundays and ‘stat’ holidays.
Qualification assets:
Horticultural experience.
Construction experience.
Backhoe experience.
‘Handyman’ skills.
Small engine and other mechanical skills.
Basic computer skills.
