Position Background and Role:

They are trusted to complete work in a timely manner with respect and care for client and company property. They are prepared to work outside in all types of weather. They are mindful of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) rights and responsibilities and are committed to working safely.

The Horticultural Technician’s Responsibilities:

• Engage in diligent work with respect for other staff, client properties, and company equipment
• Implement horticultural best practices as instructed by Lead Hands and Supervisors
• Maintain clean and tidy spaces at client properties, the shop, and in vehicles
• Collaborate with others in a team environment
• Follow the OHSA and company safety policies and procedures

The Horticultural Technician’s Qualifications, Requirements and Skills:

• Willingness to learn, take direction, and work in a team environment
• Good plant and weed identification an asset
• First Aid and CPR certifications an asset
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Must be in excellent physical shape*
• Must have reliable daily transportation to and from the shop and/or job sites
• Must have own secateurs, CSA approved steel-toed boots, and protective gloves
