The Lead Hand’s Responsibilities:
Innovative, proactive problem-solving
Provide supervision and mentorship to crew of up to 3 staff members
Ensure horticultural best practices are completed in a timely manner
Liaison to facilitate communication between staff, clients, and management
Maintain accurate records for properties, vehicles, equipment and staff
Safe and diligent movement of crew, equipment and materials throughout the workday

Qualifications and Requirements
1-3 years of previous residential landscaping experience
Post-secondary horticultural education or equivalent experience
Full G license with clean record is mandatory
First Aid and CPR certifications are mandatory
Must have reliable daily transportation to and from the shop
Must have own secateurs, CSA approved steel-toed boots, and protective gloves
The Lead Hand’s Required Skills
Thorough knowledge of horticultural best practices and integrated pest management
Excellent plant and weed identification
Able to drive a pick up and/or one-ton dump truck
Must be in excellent physical shape*
