Spec Plus Inc. is always seeking talented individuals who are looking to build a career with our fast growing company. In business for 6 years, we are landscape professionals serving the GTA, specializing in landscape design, consultation and installation of both residential and commercial developments. We also offer summer lawn care and winter maintenance services.

We are currently seeking a Landscape Crew Member to join our team to assist in providing services in professional landscape installation and garden maintenance with a focus on creating and maintaining beautifully landscaped properties to meet clients unique needs.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of the crew leader, assist in performing all landscaping installations and garden maintenance related duties
Property maintenance – cultivating, weeding, fertilizing, perennial care, pruning
Load truck and trailer
Plant trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals
Build softscapes and gardens
Learn and expand knowledge of landscape maintenance and garden installation
Able and willing to work outside in various types of summer weather conditions
Perform other duties as may be assigned

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum College Diploma/Certificate or enrolment in Horticulture or Landscape Design or related field and/or extensive proven industry experience will be considered.
Knowledge of construction techniques and basic knowledge of horticulture and plants an asset
Working knowledge of Windows OS software
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service
Excellent time management skills
Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and equipment such as packers, chain saws, hedge shears, sod cutters, pruning saws, mowing equipment, etc. to complete landscape and garden projects
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Valid G driver’s license required. D/AZ driver’s license is preferred with a clean driver’s abstract

Successful candidates will be required to meet the following criteria:

Personal transportation to and from the office/yard
Available Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Willing to work extra hours during busy times
Eager to learn and expand skills
Adhere to company policies & procedures

Compensation and Benefits:

$18 to $20 / hour based on experience
Paid statutory holidays
All uniforms and PPE paid for by company

Winter work available
