Landscape Construction Crew Member
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
Performs general labour duties and assists with the installation of professionally-designed, custom residential projects, including but not limited to flagstone, natural stone walls, interlocking stone, pre-cast retaining walls, grading, sodding & planting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Move materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts and/or mini track loader, and manual lifting and carrying. Assist foreman with job related tasks. Plant trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals as instructed. Use power tools and equipment in the process of completing specified duties, in particular, stone saws, chain saws, plate compactors, jumping jacks, circular saws and drills. Work in a safe and professional manner as described by the guidelines in our Employee Handbook and in adherence to the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires good physical condition. Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity required to use a variety of both handheld and motorized tools. Activities include extended periods of standing, walking and extensive work with concrete saws, stone tools, wheelbarrows and shovels. Heavy lifting is expected. Hearing and vision within normal ranges to receive instructions and communicate with co-workers.
QUALIFICATIONS
You are a hardworking person with a passion for landscaping, building and the outdoors with a positive can-do attitude and ability to work well in teams. A valid driver’s license is an asset. Working towards a landscape or construction based degree or certification is preferred..
COMPENSATION
We offer a competitive wage based on experience, with performance-based raises and bonuses. Hard work is rewarded. Fuel allowance possible. Flexibility to take personal days / vacation during summer season if desired.
