Welcome To Southern Tech - Applying For The Career/Technical Education Instructor - Advanced HVAC Position

Purpose of Job: 

To insure each Residential Advanced HVAC enrollee advances to the level necessary to attain related certifications and gainful employment.  Responsible for the administration, coordination, supervision, and implementation of any full-time program at SouthernTech while maintaining compliance with State of Oklahoma Career and Technical Education requirements and SouthernTech Board Policy. To coordinate all job training/internship related opportunities for all HVAC & related programs.

Requirements:

1. Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2. CT Standard Teaching Certificate required, SDE Standard preferred.
3. Must be willing to work toward Bachelor’s degree and Oklahoma State Department of Education Standard certification in accordance with district policy.
4. NOCTI or Trade related certification (as required by ODCTE) within one year of first being hired.
5. Universal EPA Sec 608 Refrigerant Certification required.
6. Mechanical Contractors License, required within one year of first being hired.
7. CDL A or B with P & S endorsements preferred.
8. 5 S organization of shop, lab, storage areas within six months of being hired.
9. Must have 5 or more years of experience in subject area and have taught at least 3 years in the subject area.
