309A Electrical Apprenticeship Opportunity in the Niagara Area

An established, local contractor is looking to build their working team in the Niagara area. Looking to hire a 3rd to 5th year 309A Electrical Apprentice with an active account with Skilled Trades Ontario. Seeking candidate with a minimum of 2 years of commercial experience. Candidate must show initiative, be eager to learn, and have hands on experience.

Day Shift - Monday to Friday (evenings and weekends may be required)

Job Type: Full-time 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Accurately complete work orders and commission equipment with smart phone and computer

  • Demonostrate ability to read blueprints and schematics and use an array of tools and diagnostic devices to service and install electrical parts 

  • Identify, troubleshoot and present technical issues in a clear and concise manner  

  • Installation/integration of electrical systems to meet electrical safety standards  

  • Solid knowledge of Ontario Electrical Code

  • Install and connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit and electrical apparatus for machines or equipment in new and existing buildings

  • Operate tools and equipment in a safe manner

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications and Requirements

 

  • Valid Ontario driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation 

  • Must have excellent organization, analyticak, planning, and troubleshooting skills 

  • Must have the ability to communicate clearly and facilitate customer's requests 

  • Tenacity and the determination to get things done in a timely manner as a member of a team

  • Must own safety boots, hard hat, basic hand tools, and cordless tools 
  • Self-sufficient, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Safety certified for working in construction (WAH, WHMIS, Workers Health & Safety)
