Horticultural Technician

The Horticultural Technician’s Role: This position plays a crucial role in client satisfaction and team success. They are professional and respectful as they engage with management, other staff and clients. They are trusted to complete work in a timely manner with respect and care for client and company property. The Horticultural Technician is prepared to work outside in all types of weather. They are mindful of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) rights and responsibilities and are committed to working safely.

The Horticultural Technician’s Responsibilities:

• Engage in diligent work with respect for other staff, client properties, and company equipment
• Implement horticultural best practices as instructed by Team Lead
• Maintain clean and tidy spaces at client properties, the shop, and in vehicles
• Collaborate with others in a team environment
• Follow the OHSA and company safety policies and procedures

The Horticultural Technician’s Qualifications and Required Skills:

• Willingness to learn, take direction, and work in a team environment
• Good plant and weed identification an asset
• First Aid and CPR certifications an asset
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Must be in excellent physical shape*

 We look forward to discussing our competitive wages and benefits. Wages for this position are between $24 - $28 per hour. Must have own secateurs, CSA approved steel-toed boots, and protective gloves. Must have reliable daily transportation to and from the shop and/or job sites.
