Program Manager – Employer Incentive

Your ability to multi-task and manage your own work and projects is essential to this position, as you will be responsible for getting deliverables completed efficiently against pre-determined deadlines. You need to be resourceful, a good problem solver and organized with strong attention to detail. You are also efficient and comfortable working in a traditional and virtual team environment.

Successful candidates will have not-for-profit program coordination and management experience and will be familiar with meeting and reporting on funded activities. This role is well-suited to an energetic and organized individual with strong written, verbal communication skills and strong project management skills. Experience working on research projects, including communicating research results and developing resulting recommendations is a strong asset.

QUALITIFATIONS TO SUCCEED:

  • Post-Secondary education, with a focus on Communications, Community Development and/or related experience
  • 3-5 years of progressive program and/or project management and coordination experience
  • Demonstrated skills in managing multiple projects to meet established deadlines
  • Outstanding ability to communicate with all levels/stakeholders while fostering constructive interpersonal relationships
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience, sales, and sale targets

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITES:

  • Ability to effectively present to or facilitate small or large groups
  • Ability to work independently and with a great team
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment
  • Experience in Leadership
  • Experience with leads generation for sales and marketing
  • Excellent employer engagement and retention skills
  • Comfortable with technology including but not limited to Outlook, Word Processing, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint etc.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Apprenticeship program and requirements and other regulatory bodies would be an asset but not required
  • Knowledge of potential employment trends / developments in the Construction, Industrial, & Services Sectors would be an asset but not required
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, news and trends would be an asset but not required
  • Understanding the business needs and requirements in the 3 Sectors would be an asset but not required

 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

 

PROMOTE EMPLOYER GRANT PROGRAM

  • Program Directors with the support of the Program Manager will promote and educate employers about the grant incentives
  • Educate employers on program criteria, and incentives
  • Facilitate information sessions via virtual or in-person
  • Create a project plan executing project components and keeping the senior leadership team informed of project progress and deliverables
  • Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with community partners who will lend their expertise to this project

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

  • Coordinate and communicate with Apprenticesearch (HIEC), SkillPlan, and Canadian Apprentice Forum to ensure funds are released to employers efficiently and effectively
  • Assist employers & apprentices with any questions about the mentor course through SkillsPlan
  • Provide access to complimentary training, mentoring supports, and matching supports when requested
  • Participation on various Advisory Committees with Colleges and other stakeholders
  • Assist in program growth based on employer/industry need through associations and other stakeholders
  • New employer outreach including employer associations
  • Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with ministry contacts, community groups, partners, employment agencies and/or organizations, and other organizations to help achieve the goals of the incentive program
  • Representing SOY at industry related events

 

ADMINISTRATION

  • Complete paperwork for employers and apprentices to receive incentives.
  • Collect information from the Employer for reporting purposes and conduct audits of related material when necessary
  • Creating and maintaining profiles in SharePoint and GrowthZone

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Primarily remote/work from home with occasional in-person meetings
  • Monday to Friday with flexible hours
  • Program Manager must be flexible to work occasional weekends and evenings if required

OTHER CONDITIONS:

  • Program Manager must be able to travel to various communities across Ontario, during all weather conditions
  • Program Manager should be able to lift, carry, and manage various equipment and supplies.
  • The employee may be required to manage workload and hours under to complete special requests or projects.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
