Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 4:00PM

Position Objective

Coordinating all aspects of the transportation of produce commodities to Burnac warehouse while ensuring acceptable transport conditions, lead time and costs.

What you will do in a typical day: 

  • Coordinate import and transport of fresh produce commodities offshore 
  • Ensure on time deliveries and related expenses on budget 
  • Coordinate all shipment arrangements with NOrth Amercian and international carriers 
  • Ensure all government regulations and documents pertaining to off-shore sourcing are understood and utilized 
  • Monitor all documentation and customs processes in timely manner, to avoid delays in clearance and delivery 
  • Analyze and propose transportation routes for ocean/air/over the road considering intermodel/cross-docking alternatives when available and acceptable 
  • Meet expected delivery standards as required by business demand 
  • Process documentation, standard operating policies and procedures current and evolve to align with the changing needs of the business 
  • Analyze, verify and approve payment related to freight and customs services 
  • Maintain workplace health and safety, through active compliance with all workplace health and safety policies and procedures 
  • Any other reasonable duties as required 

What you will need to succeed at Burnac: 

At minimum, you will need: 

  • 5 years of experience in troubleshooting logistics issues and finding efficient solutions 
  • 5 years of experience in importing/transporting products; shipping by air/sea/over-the-road 
  • 5 years of experience working with international and domestic carriers 
  • 5 years of experience in working with various customs 
  • Ability to work in an office-based environment 
  • Required to travel between company locations as required by the business and operational needs 

It would be great if you also have: 

  • Experience working in Food & Beverage or Manufacturing 
  • Post secondary education in Business Administration or Agriculture
  • Proficiency in Spanish is an asset
