Hours of Work Monday to Saturday: 7:00am – 5:00pm
Rated of Pay17.00+/hour
Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlant various sizes of trees and shrubs with safe practices and according to design plan.Trimming and maintenance of gardens and plant material at job sites and shop nursery.Build gardens, walkways, walls, and other outdoor living features.Application of garden covers such as landscape mulch and stone.Assist clients with selection of plant/landscape materials.Follow design specs to assure aesthetics, functionality, and customer satisfaction.Keep inventory of products and quantities used.Operate various types of large machinery such as frontend loader, forklift, sod cutter, F-550, etc.Use of various landscape hand tools including shovels, rakes, automatic trimming tools, hand and powered saws, drills, leaf blower, measurement equipment, wheelbarrow, etc.Load tools and supplies necessary for scheduled work into work vehicles.Irrigating plant materials in nursery and hand watering of installed plants at job sites.Work well with others to complete all tasks.
Qualifications G2 level licence or higher.Minor landscape installation experience.Extensive experience is an asset.Landscape/Horticulture schooling an asset.18+ years of age.
Working ConditionsLandscape labourers will be expected to work primarily outdoors on client’s properties or in the shop nursery. Workers will be subject to weather conditions such as hot and cold, rain, or possible snow. It is expected that workers will be driving work trucks to and from job sites with occasional ladder work.
Physical RequirementsIt is important that the applicant have good physical stamina to endure long days of vigorous work. Applicants should be comfortable lifting 50+ lbs on a regular basis. They may be expected to lift various heavy objects such as tools, building materials, or debris throughout the workday. Applicants must have adequate range of motion, due to the many positions in which work will be done, i.e. kneeling, lying, on a ladder etc. Please inform us of any hearing or visual impairments upon interview.
