Who You Are:
We are looking to add an enthusiastic & hardworking landscaping technician to our team. You will work directly
with the team supervisor & owner (Chris) to build new wildlife gardens across the GTA. You will be involved in
all steps of the garden construction process from start to finish. Prior experience in the landscaping industry &
knowledge of plants are assets, however we can train you in these topics. What we need from you is the
enthusiasm & willingness to learn. You must be able to take initiative & work independently, following detailed
instructions with great attention to detail. If you love to be outside, care about the environment, and want to make

Duties:
Removing lawn sod/ weed overgrowth to create new flowerbeds
Wheelbarrowing large quantities of topsoil, mulch & river rock
Planting trees, shrubs, & perennials following a detailed planting map
Building small retaining walls, flagstone/brick pathways, patio seating areas, & garden edging
Installing garden features including arbors, water features, birdhouses, etc.
Requirements & Assets:
Must be physically fit & able to lift heavy loads.
Willing to work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions.
Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule. The position will follow a weekly schedule (e.g. working
Mon-Wed), however some work-days will run longer than others. Some days may also be cancelled due
to severe weather and being willing & able to pick up the shift on a different day when you might not
normally be scheduled is an asset.
Must either have access to your own vehicle to get to & from job sites, be located within Richmond Hill,
or be able to meet at the Finch TTC Subway Station for pickup & drop-off.
High attention to detail, able to follow detailed instructions.
Good communication skills. Comfortable speaking with clients & members of the general public about
our work an asset.
Work well independently as well as part of a small team. A self-starter who takes initiative & asks
questions to clarify instructions as needed.
Prior experience in the landscaping industry, gardening, or as a general contractor an asset.
Knowledge of native plant & wildlife species in Ontario, invasive species, and common garden plants an
asset.
