The team at Birk’s is looking for a seasoned and enthusiastic Landscape Construction Foreman who is a leader but also a team player and has a passion for excellence.

You will be required to:

• Maintain a high standard of work and have your crew adhere to this standard
• Lead and schedule work activities of a 4-to-5-person crew effectively
• Manage crew’s quality and productivity of work at sites and yard efficiently and within job timelines
• Teach and lead your team through installation of pre-cast concrete materials
• Read construction drawings and surveys
• Participate in meetings with the designer and client regarding site construction
• Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner
• Demonstrate role model behaviour, ethics and integrity and positive promotion of company culture
• Complete daily reports and paperwork related to projects

Qualifications:

• 3 to 5 years experience in residential landscaping
• Advanced skill with design interpretation, trade calculations and layout
• Aptitude for physically demanding outdoor work during all types of weather conditions
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Experience directing a crew of 3 or more people
• Able to teach and hold others accountable to results
• Experience driving trucks and trailers, loading/offloading machines, maintenance and repair of equipment
• Current Excavator & Skid Steer certifications an asset
• First Aid training and other certifications an asset

Wage & Benefits:

• Full time/permanent position
• Hourly rate to be determined dependant on experience
