Maintenance Lead Hand Role: Our maintenance team enhances communities through well-maintained greenspaces (and has a lot of fun doing it!). Success of the maintenance team relies on the collaboration of each individual working independently. Our lead hands enjoy supporting the crew & crew leader in order to achieve the best results. They notice when someone seems out of place. They feel the most motivated when they are constantly learning and challenging themselves.

A Day in the Life

Each day starts by meeting with your team to discuss the objectives for the day. Once you and your team have ensured you have all your equipment/supplies, and your truck and trailer are ready for transit, you take off to your first site. The maintenance team becomes familiar with their properties, as they get to visit them each week. This is where you have the ability to master your skills, show your attention to detail and passion. Using different equipment such as trimmers, push mowers, zero turn mowers and blowers, your team will work together to beautify the sites. You are not satisfied until the site showcases your talent, passion and enthusiasm.

Lead Hand Qualifications

• Transportation to landscape yard (313 Sunnyridge Road, Alberton ON L0R1A0)

• Proven interest in working outdoors, being active

• Minimum 2 years Landscape Maintenance experience (Commercial & Condo Maintenance an Asset)
• G Class Drivers License with Truck & Trailer experience

Lead Hand Competencies/Personal Traits

• Ability to operate lawn maintenance equipment with no supervision, in a safe and respectful manner. 

• Positive attitude, willingness to take on challenges or learn new skills

• Willingness to adapt quickly to day-to-day changes
• Enjoys leading a team, mentoring other people

Equipment Operation
String trimmers, Backpack blowers, push mowers, zero turn mowers, hand tools, occasional operation of truck & Trailer. 

Commitment
This position will start ASAP
April through November, FT Monday-Friday, Occasional Saturdays, average 10 hour days
Snow Removal work available (Sidewalk Crew, Plow Truck, Machine Operation) 
Working in various weather conditions
