Welcome To Cedarbrook Tree Farm - Applying For The Tree Farm & Landscape Crew Leader/Foreperson Position

Cedarbrook Tree Farm is a small nursery specializing in unique, hardy trees and shrubs and offers delivery, installation, and landscape design services. Our season runs from early spring to late fall.

The Crew Leader, also called a foreperson, works alongside one or more crew members in completing all landscaping installations and tree farm maintenance. They must be able to keep crew members on task, inspect the quality of work to ensure job requirements are met, and interact with customers to resolve issues or answer questions. 

 

Role and Responsibilities

The Crew Leader is responsible for leading crew members in tree and landscape installation, product deliveries and all tree farm maintenance including:

• Lifting and transporting tree and plant material
• Installing tree and plant material
• Weeding, mulching, watering, and mowing
• Utilizing landscape equipment and tools
• Organizing work materials and tools

Preferred Skills

• Ability to work independently and lead a team
• Ability to work outdoors through a range of weather conditions
• Proven attention to detail, efficient and well-organized
• Ability to interact with others in positive ways which develop mutual understanding, respect, and productive relationships
• Interest or experience in horticulture or landscape design/maintenance
• Proven customer service experience

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must have a valid Ontario G Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle for travel
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 100 lbs.
• Must be available to work weekends.
