We are seeking a dedicated Project Manager to lead the execution and profitability of construction projects within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

 

Position Overview:

As a Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining client relationships, overseeing project execution, and driving business development. Your leadership will contribute to our continued success, emphasizing the importance of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

 

Key Responsibilities:

    1. Project Management:
      • Travel to various project sites within the GTA.
      • Plan, organize, delegate, and supervise the day-to-day administration of construction projects.
      • Train, mentor, support, and supervise Site Foremen in the company philosophy and systems.
    2. Project Execution and Oversight:
      • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
      • Lead teams in the execution of electrical construction projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and project specifications.
      • Monitor and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively.
      • Preparing tenders, budgets, project schedules, and change orders.
      • Negotiation of change orders.
      • Obtaining building permits.
      • Ensure health and safety practices are adhered to.
      • Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during the project lifecycle.

 

Client and Stakeholder Interaction:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.
    • Foster positive client relationships through effective communication and problem-solving.
    • Follow up on completed work to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
    • Represent the company in meetings with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  1. Financial Management:
    • Preparation of change quotations for presentation to the primary client.
    • Negotiate all change quotations to a conclusion.
    • Layout jobs and redesign for increased profitability.
    • Prepare monthly costing reports.
    • Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses).

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification related discipline preferred.
  • Experience: 8-10 years in commercial electrical construction including 5 years in project management.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Post-secondary degree or diploma as Electrical Technician /Electrical Technologist, or 309A Electrical License is an asset.
  • Technical Skills: Accubid, Jonas, Procore experience is considered an asset, knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Code.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Driving: Valid driver's license required.

  • Proven experience mentoring and managing others.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Business development and regular client interaction are a plus.
  • Proficient in using a computer, project management software and tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational, record-keeping, and follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
  • Familiarity with team-building techniques.
