The Role
We're looking for a hands-on Industrial PLC Technician / Electrical Controls Technician who can troubleshoot, program, and support industrial automation systems in real-world environments.

This role is ideal for someone who understands both the programming and the physical side of automation — from PLC logic to the actual machine wiring that makes it all work.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Troubleshoot and support PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial control systems in the field
  • Work with platforms such as Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) and Siemens
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with instrumentation and field devices
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings
  • Work with industrial Ethernet networks and communication protocols
  • Troubleshoot and verify dual-channel safety circuits and safety controllers
  • Assist with or lead commissioning of automation systems
  • Support and oversee custom control panel builds from design to completion
  • Communicate clearly with customers, plant personnel, and internal teams
  • Assist with project take-offs and technical input for quoting

What We're Looking For

  • Strong background in the electrical trade (309A or equivalent experience preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and industrial control systems
  • Comfortable working inside control panels and on industrial equipment (following proper safety procedures)
  • Hands-on experience with machine control wiring, including I/O, sensors, VFDs, and field devices
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues from field device back to PLC
  • Solid understanding of industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, etc.)
  • Familiarity with safety circuits and machine safeguarding principles
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
  • Comfortable working independently on service calls and projects
  • Strong communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach

Work Conditions

  • Primarily local work with minimal travel required
  • Occasional evenings and weekends as required (paid at overtime rates)
  • Mix of shop work, field service, and on-site commissioning
