Position Overview:

Celebrating our 20th year in business, we continue to grow and are now hiring staff for a new hydroseeding crew. As a Hydroseeding Foreman, you will lead a team responsible for hydroseeding operations on projects across Eastern Ontario, working as a standalone crew responsible for seeing projects through to completion. We service projects of all sizes, from small residential to multi-year infrastructure projects across the region. This position also involves final grading work on a variety of new landscape projects. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring successful project execution and client satisfaction. We operate with new equipment, and you can expect a well organized work structure each day thanks to our stellar office staff. We are seeking a dedicated individual to take on this position who values quality workmanship and leadership.

Responsibilities:

Supervise Crew: Lead and manage a crew of hydroseeding technicians, ensuring safety protocols are followed and work quality meets company standards.
Hydroseeding Operations: Oversee hydroseeding activities, including mixing seed, mulch, and fertilizer, operating hydroseeding equipment, and applying the mixture to prepared soil.
Site Preparation: Oversee site preparation tasks such as seed bed preparation and final grading with a tractor & an array of implements.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintain hydroseeding equipment, troubleshoot issues, and schedule routine maintenance.
Client Communication: Interact with clients, address their concerns, and provide updates on project progress.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of materials used, work hours, and project details.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of landscape industry experience. We are happy to invest in the right candidate with initial and ongoing training opportunities to further your career.
Certifications: Valid Ontario G Class driver’s license and must be insurable for this position
Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively. The hydroseeding crews are typically 2-3 people.
Attention to Detail: Ensure precise application of hydroseed mixtures.
Physical Stamina: Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

General Work Requirements:

Work is typically Monday to Friday from 7AM until the job is finished.
Work is conducted outdoors, rain or shine.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis throughout the day.
CSA approved steel-toed boots are required (other safety gear provided as needed).
Must have a G level license with a suitable driving record.
Own transportation to our shop in Barrhaven is necessary (no bus service within 5 km).

Experience & Skill Set:

Experience in operating commercial trucks and construction equipment, including trailers and loading and securing of heavy loads.
General knowledge of landscaping procedures and processes.
Experience in the operation, maintenance, and servicing of small/medium-sized landscaping equipment and vehicles.
Strong work ethic and ability to quickly master new skills.
