Who We Are
Cactus Park Elementary is the second school of the nationally-celebrated pilotED Schools network. At Cactus Park Elementary, we strive to center the voices and experiences of our students and their families as we further the academic excellence, social identity development, and civic engagement of our students. From our daily identity-based curriculum to our on-campus farm, Cactus Park Elementary provides an inclusive, enriching lifestyle for our students and families to forever interrupt generational cycles of poverty.
What You’ll Be Doing
As the critical driver of student success, the primary responsibility of a founding teacher is to effectively instruct students and inspire young minds in a manner that supports holistic and identity-based education. Founding teachers are accountable for students’ academic performance and will receive extensive coaching to ensure that all standards are being met. In addition, teachers are expected to effectively manage classroom behavior while supporting the identity-driven climate and culture of the school. A founding classroom teacher will play an integral role in building our school in our first year and beyond.
One teacher within each grade-level will be established as a lead teacher (added responsibility/compensation). The classroom teacher reports directly to the School Principal with support from the Assistant Principal, Dean of Culture, and Lead Teacher.
