Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Service Technician / Team Leader to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our service schedule in Singhampton. This role involves supporting the Field Supervisor, ensuring efficient service delivery, and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction across our residential, commercial, and golf property clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and Service Irrigation and Landscape Lighting Systems.
  • Manage all aspects of the service team's efficient and effective operation.
  • Direct, supervise and inspire service team members to achieve superior performance and pre-set performance levels.
  • Participate in daily service team meetings and build strong relationships with all team leaders, members, and other department staff.
  • Work with the Customer Care Team to ensure high customer satisfaction and notify them of any schedule delays.
  • Maintain professional conduct and open communication with customers and contractors to foster relationships and retain customers.
  • Ensure the maintenance and repair of all facilities, equipment, and vehicles used for service and customer care.
  • Safeguard inventory and minimize handling, storage, and damage costs.
  • Use Service Titan software effectively to log time, write notes, enter parts used, and complete assessments.
  • Provide technical support and manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing workloads.
  • Follow and enforce health and safety regulations, attend required meetings, and keep documentation up to date.
  • Use the company vehicle strictly for company purposes.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years in the irrigation industry.
  • Leadership experience is an asset.
  • Experience working outdoors for extended periods and performing physical labor.
  • Proficiency with scheduling software; experience with Service Titan is an asset.
  • High school diploma required; college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Class G Licence required; additional certifications (e.g., Working at Heights, CIT) are valuable.
  • Strong initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak with homeowners courteously and respectfully.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the candidate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods, stand, walk, dig, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have a full range of body movements, including using hands and fingers, bending, reaching, crouching, and specific vision abilities. The ability to bend the body, to reach for objects, and to crouch when needed is also required.
  • The candidate must have command of four senses: sight, hearing, touch, and smell.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

  • 10-hour days/50 hours a week. Extended schedules may be necessary at times.
  • Working outdoors in the elements.
  • Extensive travel is required; however, a service vehicle will be provided.
