DIGITAL INCLUSION FACILITATOR

Full Time / Permanent / Hybrid

Virtual (work from home) + 2-3 days/week in-office (45 Alderney Drive, Dartmouth)

 

Due to internal advancement, GEO Nova Scotia is eagerly seeking to hire another Digital Inclusion Facilitator to help deliver Digital Inclusion support for Nova Scotians. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a purpose-led organization, and the successful candidate will play an important part in delivering Digital Inclusion programming as part of a dynamic team

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide intake and support services for participants in our "GEO Connects" program, including establishing internet accounts, mobile phone plans, and managing the distribution of devices. 
  • Provide online Digital Inclusion training and support to front-line staff from a variety of partner organizations for our “Digital Champions” program. 
  • Work directly with program participants and partners with a thoughtful and human-centric approach. 
  • Foster trust and respect in all processes to help allow the greatest variety of perspectives to join and inform our collective success. 

Education & Experience 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required 
  • Strong digital skills are required
  • Comfort with telephone communication is required
  • Experience teaching individuals and/or groups is strongly preferred 
  • Experience in client or customer service is an asset 
  • Experience with Google Workspace and Salesforce is an asset 
  • Experience working in partnership with the non-profit sector is an asset 
  • Knowledge of people who are disadvantaged or understanding of equity issues is an asset 
  • Preference will be given to bilingual/ French candidates

The Package

Salary: $55,200 per year

The compensation package includes three weeks of paid vacation plus 16 holidays per year (6 statutory and 10 non!), and cost-shared medical and dental benefits. Staff members are also provided a laptop and other equipment as needed. 

Details

Depending on where they live in the province, our Digital Inclusion Facilitators work primarily from home and/or from our office in downtown Dartmouth.

The successful applicant for this position will be expected to work out of the office for at least 2 days each week.

 Full-time hours, generally Monday - Friday during business hours.
