Summary

The Cleaner will be responsible for keeping the plant and office area in a clean and orderly condition and will perform cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, wiping tables, cleaning and stocking supplies in common areas in the office and production plant floor and emptying of waste bins. Duties include notifying management of the need for repairs and snow removal or debris from outside grounds (walkway/parking lot).

Job Duties

  • Are as follows but are not limited to: placement of garbage bins and liners, filling of paper towel dispensers, maintaining levels of soaps and sanitizer dispensers and maintaining boot washer chemical levels.
  • General upkeep of outside grounds (waste bins/parking lot).
  • Performs general clean up of all office facilities.
  • Sweeps, mops, vacuum carpeted areas, empty garbage and recycle bins, performs all cleaning aspects of halls, offices, board rooms, restrooms, lunchrooms as well as washes windows/window coverings.
  • Cleans and stocks restroom facilities
  • Cleans light fixtures.
  • Contacts appropriate personnel if any repairs are required.( windows, doors, switches, desks, tables, plugs, equipment, appliances, sinks, toilets, blinds etc)
  • Prepares and sets up rooms for meetings, or various functions and cleans up afterwards.
  • Maintains outside grounds (removes debris, sweeps and cleans gutters).
  • Responsible for proper inventory of materials and supplies.
  • Identify and report any hazard(s) in your workplace.
  • Report any accidents, injuries requiring first aid, health care, lost-time injuries, occupational diseases or incidents.
  • Use equipment, materials, and machinery only as authorized;
  • Follow procedures and wear personal protective equipment as outlined in the health and safety manual.
  • Other duties shall be assigned as required.

 

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • 2-3 years of cleaning experience, preferable in the food industry.
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Must be able to schedule and prioritize work for self.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions orally and in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Exhibit initiative, responsibility, and flexibility.

Work Conditions

  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 - 50lb.
  • Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety rubber boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Deal with hazards associated within this job function.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Manual dexterity required.
  • Exposure to moderate changes in temperature from hot to cold
  • Ability to stand, crouch, bend, reach, and stoop for long periods of time.
