Our Hantsport, Nova Scotia location is looking to hire a Pipefitter1st Class to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of pipe systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair, and will work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Pipefitter 1^st Class will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:

Install, assemble, and repair piping systems, including valves, fittings, and fixtures.
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of piping systems.
Collaborate with engineers and other trades to ensure system efficiency and compliance with safety standards.
Perform regular inspections and maintenance on piping systems to prevent leaks and ensure functionality.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications:

Must hold Red Seal interprovincial Pipefitter certificate issued by Department of Labour.
Completion of trades school program preferred.
Five years recent and related experience in the pipefitting trade.
Must be proficient in field fitting of piping systems. i.e. measuring for, creating material lists for, assembling and installing pipework in the field.
Able to correctly select type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers according to job specifications.
Experience with steam piping systems and familiarity with applicable regulations preferred.
Must have mechanical experience working in an industrial environment.
Familiar with the current Nova Scotia Occupational Health and Safety Act, as well as Company and government rules, policies and procedures, and regulations.
Knowledge in the use of computers preferred.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
Reliable and punctual.
Ability to take direction.
Ability to work independently and as a part of the maintenance team to ensure manufacturing equipment is running efficiently.
Knowledge of the tools of the trade.
Must be able to work 8 hour days (Monday to Friday); and, willing and able to work overtime, as required.
General safety, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Lock Out/Tag Out, and WHMIS training an asset.
