Behavioral Health Technician (BHT/DSS)

The Behavioral Health Technician provides direct personal care and behavioral support to young adults with developmental disabilities, autism, mental illness, and traumatic brain injuries under the supervision of the Program Director and Lead BHT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist participants with activities of daily living (including toileting, transfers, mobility, meals, and personal care).

  • Observe participants, document changes, and promptly report concerns or unusual behaviors.

  • Support and implement behavioral interventions and behavior-modification strategies.

  • Promote participant safety and provide emotional support in a calm and professional manner.

  • Assist with ambulation and use of assistive devices.

  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment and help prevent skin breakdown.

  • Complete required documentation (including intake and output).

  • Assist with program activities and respond to emergencies as directed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.

  • Prior experience with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral support preferred.

  • Ability to work flexible and unscheduled hours.

  • Must be able to meet Nevada health and medical clearance requirements prior to employment.
