Position Overview:

As an LTL Freight Dispatcher specializing in cold calling and shipment rating, you will play a vital role in our operations by proactively reaching out to potential clients, establishing relationships, and accurately rating shipments. You will work closely with our sales and logistics teams to ensure that our LTL freight services meet client needs and expectations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Cold Calling and Lead Generation:

• Identify and target potential clients in need of LTL freight services through cold calling, market research, and networking.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients.
• Conduct persuasive and informative sales pitches to generate interest in our services.

 

Shipment Rating:

• Receive and assess shipment details from clients, including weight, dimensions, and special requirements.
• Utilize industry-standard rating tools and software to accurately determine shipping costs.
• Provide clients with detailed and transparent pricing quotes for their shipments.

 

Customer Relationship Management:

• Develop and nurture strong client relationships by providing exceptional customer service.
• Address client inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
• Collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling services.

 

Coordination and Communication:

• Collaborate with the operations team to schedule and coordinate shipments.
• Communicate shipment details, requirements, and special instructions to drivers and carriers.
• Track shipments in real-time and provide updates to clients as needed.

 

Documentation and Record Keeping:

• Ensure accurate and complete documentation of all shipments, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
• Maintain organized records of client communications, rates, and shipment details.

 

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in cold calling and sales, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry.
• Strong knowledge of Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) freight shipping processes and rating methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using shipping software and rating tools.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
• Team player with a customer-focused mindset.

 

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field is a plus.
