The Opportunity:

The primary purpose of the Web Developer is to develop, manage, maintain, and expand the College’s public websites and microsites, with a primary focus on custom WordPress development. The role will also be responsible for optimizing WordPress sites for fast page loading, implementing security best practices, and managing caching solutions.

Additionally, the Web Developer will contribute to the overall success of triOS by ensuring a seamless user experience (UI/UX) and supporting various API integrations.

What you’ll be doing:

• Manage, maintain, and develop new features and functionality on our WordPress-based public websites and microsites.
  
  
• Develop and implement responsive websites and pages using HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, JavaScript, and other frameworks.
  
  
• Ensure optimal performance and fast page loading by implementing caching solutions (server-side and client-side) and optimizing WordPress site speed.
  
  
• Follow security best practices for WordPress development, ensuring secure code and regular updates.
  
  
• Develop and maintain API integrations and handle custom development for external services, particularly CRMs.
  
  
• Design intuitive, user-friendly interfaces that enhance the user experience (UI/UX) across all devices.
  
  
• Manage MySQL databases, designing efficient queries and ensuring scalability and performance.
  
  
• Conduct SEO best practices to improve website visibility and search engine rankings.

What you bring to the position:

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
  
  
• Three (3) years of experience developing custom WordPress websites, with a focus on UI/UX and site optimization.
  
  
• Proficiency in web development languages such as PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  
  
• Understanding of AJAX for asynchronous web applications and JSON for data interchange formats.
  
  
• Familiarity with SEO principles to enhance website performance in search engines.
  
  
• Experience in caching solutions and WordPress optimization tools (e.g., WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache).
  
  
• Expertise in WordPress security best practices.
  
  
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
  
  
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively
