Primary Responsibility:
The Instructor provides and sustains an effective online learning environment for every student through well-moderated classes, fair and holistic assessment of learning, and clear documentation of student progress. The primary method of communication with students is through computer-based communications such as two-way video conferences, chat, phone, and email as well as an on-site component that will require on site instruction.
This position will be responsible for providing instruction for the Pharmacy Assistant Program.
The Instructor will support the vision, mission, and values of Eastern College while contributing to a positive, supportive and student-focused team environment of respect, integrity, dedication and readiness; embracing diversity and fostering inclusion.

 

What you’ll be doing:
• Preparation of daily lesson plans.
• Instructs assigned courses in accordance with course competencies.
• Develop and/or utilize a variety of instructional strategies, techniques, and delivery methods.
• Fosters a safe and civil learning environment.
• Prepares lecture/lab and class materials as required.
• Informs students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, attendance policies, and provide students with a copy of course outline.
• Access course content using the Brightspace LMS platform.
• Administer assessments using the Brightspace LMS platform.
• Moderate and submit grades using the Brightspace LMS platform.
• Ensure students can access the Brightspace platform.
• Maintains established hours of teaching.
• Prepares and grades class tests, assignments and examinations as required.
• Advises students regarding their academic needs and refers them for additional assistance as needed.
• Keeping archives of student work and correspondence (if necessary), and maintaining and reporting student participation, evaluations/grades as appropriate.
• Identify students who are struggling, absent or have issues impacting their successful progress and escalate on to local Campus Director.
• Communication with Faculty Head on curriculum issues.

 

What you bring to the position:
To succeed in this thrilling role, you should bring:
• Minimum of two (2) years practical hospital and / or retail pharmacy experience working as either a Pharmacy Assistant or Technician.
• Must be a graduate of the Pharmacy Technician program.
• Advanced knowledge of computerized pharmacy software applications.
• Prior teaching experience is preferred.
• Completion of a pharmacy Technician program or related program.
• Professionalism combined with intermediate Microsoft Office skills, superior communication and organizational skills will be essential to success in this role.
