Senior Accountant

With a strong emphasis on innovation, efficiency, and teamwork, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team and contribute to CKF continued success.

The Senior Accountant will be a key member of the finance team, responsible for ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the company's financial health. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and experience in the manufacturing sector.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes and preparation of financial statements.
  • Oversee general ledger accounting and ensure timely reconciliations.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare information for internal and external audits.
  • Supervise junior accounting staff and provide mentorship and training as needed.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial processes and implement best practices.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA designation or near completion is preferred).
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience (in a manufacturing environment would be considered an asset).
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle] is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power suite of products is an asset.
  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

 

Working Environment:

 

  • Located in the beautiful Annapolis Valley, only 55 minutes from Halifax.
  • Reporting directly to the Manager of Financial Accounting.
  • This is an on-site position.
