Job Overview: An Automotive Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining various types of vehicles, ensuring that all systems (engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, etc.) are functioning properly. The technician uses diagnostic tools to identify issues, performs regular maintenance tasks, and ensures vehicles meet safety and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair automotive mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance services (oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, etc.).
  • Inspect vehicle systems for safety and performance.
  • Test-drive vehicles to confirm proper functioning after repairs.
  • Use diagnostic equipment to identify problems with the vehicle’s engine, transmission, and other systems.
  • Keep detailed records of repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification is a plus (e.g., ASE certification).
  • Experience with automotive repair or mechanical work (minimum 2 years preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostics.
  • Ability to operate diagnostic equipment and hand tools.
  • Good communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Standing, bending, and lifting for long periods of time.

Work Environment:

  • Auto repair shop.
  • Hours are Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm.  Medical Benefits. Paid Holidays
