The Head Office for Charm Diamond Centres (CJ Limited) in Dartmouth, NS is looking for an experienced and dynamic Retail Buyer to join our team, specializing in managing national brands. Under the direction of the Vice-President of Merchandising, the retail buyer will be responsible for analyzing consumer trends, purchasing, organizing, and promoting merchandise to maximize sales and achieve company goals.

Operating over 85 stores from coast to coast, CJ Limited is the largest independently owned Canadian Jewellery Company and a Platinum Member of Canada’s Best Managed Companies.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze Consumer Trends: Evaluate and interpret market data to identify trends and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Merchandise Management: Purchase, organize, and promote assigned merchandise departments for both stores and websites to maximize sales.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our Marketing and Visual Departments to optimize the sales performance of your portfolio.
  • Budget Management: Improve, monitor, and maintain merchandise programs within the allotted purchase budget, while achieving company sales and gross profit goals.
  • Motivate Store Personnel: Develop creative strategies to motivate store personnel and provide advice and guidance regarding products.
  • Relationship Building: Maintain positive relations with peers, subordinates, and suppliers to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Retail Buyer in a similar role or as a graduate of a college-level merchandising program.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret consumer trends.
  • Excellent organizational and promotional skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.
  • Strong budget management skills.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft 365, especially Excel.
  • Creative and motivational leadership style.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
