Our client is seeking a Human Resources Administrator to join their team!

 

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Administrator provides works with a team of HR professionals to support the operations of a company in Charlottetown, PEI. The key focus areas will involve benefit administration, labour relations (union), general employee relations, recruiting, performance management support, and other HR generalist functions.

Some of the primary responsibilities will include:

  • Provide hands-on, day-to-day guidance to managers and supervisors on a wide range of human resources issues such as collective agreement application.
  • Supporting all employees in the areas of group and company benefits administration and retirement programs, and also attendance management.
  • Consulting with hiring managers to identify hiring needs, interviewing, onboarding functions, and assisting in the new employee orientation program.
  • Coordinating employee engagement activities and events.
  • Advising and assisting employees on HR policies and procedures as well as solving compliance challenges.
  • Remaining current on human resources trends and best practices to better support the business.

Minimum Position Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline or equivalent (required)
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a human resource professional, with a strong emphasis on benefits administration and experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Must currently be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • CPHR designation is considered an asset. 
  • Work Location: In-person (remote and hybrid are not available)

 Skills & Knowledge:

  • Must possess strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with individuals at all levels, both within and outside the company.
  • Knowledge of provincial labour and employment legislation, workers compensation and occupational health and safety, and payroll legislation.
  • Must possess strong computer and organizational skills.
  • The ability to make sound decisions when responding to critical situations.
  • Self-motivated team player, with excellent problem-solving skills.    

 

Full-time, Permanent

 

This position offers a competitive and comprehensive compensation and benefits package. The pay range for this position is between $70,000 and $85,000 per annum.
