GEO Nova Scotia is on a mission to bridge the digital divide and create opportunities for underserved communities across the province. As we prepare for growth, we need a creative, strategic, and driven Communications Lead to help accomplish our goals .

In this role, you’ll craft compelling content, manage digital and social media, build relationships with partners and media, and shape GEO Nova Scotia’s voice across multiple platforms. What You’ll Do

  • Develop engaging and informative content across channels
  • Manage and grow our on-line presence
  • Build awareness and cultivate media relationships
  • Craft messaging that drives impact and aligns with our mission
  • Collaborate with key constituents and supporters

What You Bring

  • A degree in Communications, PR, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3 -5 years of progressive experience in communications, marketing, or PR
  • A strong grasp of digital platforms and how to use them effectively
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills—you know how to make people stop, read, and take action
  • Experience with media relations, editing, and content strategy
  • Familiarity with Nova Scotia’s nonprofit landscape, government, and current affairs
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, startup-style nonprofit environment (bonus points for nonprofit experience)

 

The Perks

  • Salary: $70,000 per year
  • Three weeks of paid vacation plus 16 holidays (including 10 non-statutory days!)

Additional Details

Full-time hours, generally Monday - Friday with occasional evening commitments.
