Job Description

Blue Grass, Calgary's largest Nursery and Garden Center is looking for outgoing, hardworking and reliable people to join our team working in the Blue Grass yard. As a Yard Worker, you will be responsible for various duties such as order loading and unloading, shipping and receiving, and performing heavy lifting. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

This position is seasonal from April to November.

Duties include:

• Loading and unloading plants, sod, bulk soils, rock, and mulch
• Previous experience operating skid steer, bucket loader, and forklift would be an asset
• Loading customers and receiving product shipments
• Facilitating pallet returns for wholesale & retail customers
• Organize and maintain the yard area to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries.

Qualifications:

• Proficient in performing heavy lifting tasks.
• Ability to communicate clearly and provide good customer service to our clients.
• Tools and training will be provided but some previous knowledge of industrial yards would be an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking and assembly.
• Excellent organizational skills to maintain an orderly yard area.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Good communication skills to collaborate with team members effectively.
• This is a physical job requiring lifting, bending, and other physical tasks. Outdoors in all types of weather.
• Knowledge of landscaping tools and equipment such as skid steers, loaders, and forklifts would be an asset.
• Fluency in English and a second language would be an asset.
