Yard Equipment Operator (loader, skid-steer and forklift)

Blue Grass, Calgary's largest Nursery and Garden Center is looking for outgoing, hard-working and reliable people in our yard. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Skid Steer Operator to join our team. As a Skid Steer Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, such as skid steers, forklifts and loaders. Your expertise in operating and maintaining this equipment will contribute to the success of our projects.

This position is seasonal from April to November.

Duties include:

• Loading and unloading plants, sod, bulk soils, rock, and mulch
• Previous experience operating skid steer, bucket loader, and forklift is required
• Loading customers and receiving product shipments
• Facilitating pallet returns for wholesale & retail customers
• Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the yard.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
• Safely operate equipment following company policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on equipment.
• Follow safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of landscaping tools and equipment such as skid steers, loaders, and forklifts
• Ability to communicate clearly and provide good customer service to our clients
• Tools and training will be provided but some previous knowledge of industrial yards would be an asset
• This is a physical job requiring lifting, bending, and other physical tasks. Outdoors in all types of weather.
• Fluency in English and a second language would be an asset
