This is a seasonal position (May to November), with opportunities for year-round employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a 10-tonne water truck to water trees at our location and various customer sites.
  • Follow instructions provided by dispatch, management, and customers to ensure efficient and accurate service.
  • Interact with customers to provide excellent service and ensure proper watering techniques.
  • Load and unload hoses, transport them to watering areas, and securely store them back on the truck after use.
  • Operate hydrants and commercial sprinklers for watering purposes.
  • Maintain accurate records using tablets provided in the truck.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and ensure proper maintenance.

Qualifications

  • License: Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Driving Skills: Proficiency in operating manual 13 & 18 speed split shift transmission vehicles.
  • Experience: Familiarity with operating 10-tonne water trucks, hoses, valves, hydrants, and sprinklers.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to handle the physical demands of driving, hauling hoses, and performing watering tasks.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills to interact effectively with dispatch, fellow drivers, management, and clients.
  • Area Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of Calgary and surrounding street systems, with the ability to navigate large vehicles through tight residential areas.

Additional Information

  • Transportation Requirement: Applicants must have their own transportation, as public transit is unavailable in our area.
  • Job Type: Full-time, Contract.
