Job Description

Do you have a passion for horticulture, people, and customer service? Are you comfortable with computers? Then this job is for you! Blue Grass, Calgary's largest Nursery and Garden Center is looking for exuberant, reliable people to work in our Call Centre assisting our customers, taking orders by phone and offering assistance with consumer questions. This is a seasonal from approximately April to October. 

Duties include:

• Handling customer inquiries via phone and e-mail, directing clients to the appropriate internal and external resources
• Taking and processing customer phone orders in a fast-paced environment
• Upsell and cross-sell complementary products and services
• Making large volumes of outgoing calls to update customer information, grow our sales, and request donations for our annual fundraiser
• General administrative duties: electronic processing of mail, data entry, sign production, and special projects
• General housekeeping of Call Centre area

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in a customer service role is required
• Previous POS terminal knowledge is a must
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable making large volumes of outgoing sales calls
• Strong computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Fluency in English and a second language would be an asset
