Job Title: Roadside Supervisor
Department: Operations / Roadside Assistance
Reports To: Transportation Director

Qualifications: 

General - Certified by a Nevada licensed physician within 6 months prior to employment to be in good health including freedom from communicable disease and no physical limitations. A 2-step TB skin test is required to be completed within the first 2 weeks of employment, followed by an annual 1-step TB skin test. If presented with a documented history of positive skin test, a one time CXR and TB Questionnaire will be required. The TB Questionnaire will be required annually. A 7 year history of criminal background check and Motor Vehicle Report via Occuscreen will be performed upon hire with a negative result. MVR may have no more than 1 demerit point. All must be done upon hire and annually thereafter. 

Education/Experience - High School Diploma. Prior personal or work experience in Transportation for a minimum of 1 year. 

Abilities - In addition to the responsibilities detailed in this job Description, the Field Supervisor must be able to: 

  • understand the needs of the elderly and disabled adults, in particular, the 

needs of those with cognitive impairments (memory problems, confusion, disorientation)

  • be sensitive to the needs of family caregivers; 
  • be available to work unscheduled days and hours
  • Communicate well with co-workers, superiors, drivers, directors, contracted 

vendor(s), clients and family caregivers 

  • Ability to effectively manage drivers 
  • Knowledgeable of schedules and ability to review and audit manifest

Responsibilities: 

  • Communicate with dispatch to provide, and receive updates regarding office and field operations 
  • Responding to complaints & correcting issues regarding transportation 
  • Reviewing & maintaining transportation expenses 
  • For over-seeing maintenance & repairs for all vehicles 
  • Be able to print Daily Manifests for each driver and communicate any changes in schedule 
  • Be able to counsel drivers as needed 
  • Cover for drivers when absent or running late 
  • Perform required tasks or projects requested by RTC for compliance 
  • Must be able to monitor and correct any errors made on the manifest 4. Train drivers in the field to provide safe, yet timely transportation 
  • Perform evaluations on all drivers (3 months & annual) 
  • Communicate with Directors, or designee, to coordinate start date of new client(s) for field operations 
  • Be able to dispatch rides to appropriate routes as needed 
  • Be able to re-route rides as needed 
  • Communicate with clients/family caregivers with regards to transportation 
  • Communicate with all facilities' Directors, Administrative Assistants with regards to transportation 
  • Able to perform and explain all requirements on pre-trip check list 
  • Monitor vehicle up-keep, and perform random spot checks.
