Panel Builder

As a panel builder your job responsibilities will include the fabrication and assembly of custom control panels according to electrical schematics and layout blueprints. You will work along side the shop foreman and company electricians and apprentices. Daily tasks will include punching and cutting panels, installing components on the backplate, wiring panel components, labelling components and maintaining current as built drawings. Your will be required to maintain a clean and productive workspace. A typical workday will be from 7:30 to 4:30. There maybe an opportunity for overtime and modified working hours in the future.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Interpret and follow schematics and blueprints for panel construction
  • Mount and install panel components
  • Wiring and testing of panel components
  • Maintain panel as built drawings
  • Collaborate with the design and drafting team, panel shop personnel, purchasing department and installing field electricians

Education and Experience required:

  • No previous panel building experience is required but would be considered an asset
  • Must have experience with power tools
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact with vendors, customers, and staff
  • Highly organized to handle multiple priorities
