Eden Valley Poultry Incorporated is seeking a Live Haul Driver to join our team. Reporting to the Live Haul Manager, you are responsible for the safe and timely transportation of live poultry for processing in accordance with animal welfare policies, practices, and procedures.

As a Live Haul Driver you will:

  • Transport poultry to the plant, ensuring compliance with animal welfare standards.
  • Follow transportation regulations and complete pre-checks on equipment.
  • Monitor trailer temperature and adjust as needed to maintain welfare standards.
  • Prepare trailer by un-tarping and unstrapping for the Moffett forklift driver.
  • Secure modules, tarp for road readiness, and complete required paperwork.
  • Adhere to company policies, SOPs, and safety standards in all tasks.
  • Comply with EVP health & safety and environmental policies for a safe work environment.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure quality.
  • Attend required meetings for operational updates and safety.



Requirements:

  • Some related experience in driving a road tractor and trailer.
  • Proven record of safe driving with a road tractor and trailer.
  • Poultry transport experience is an asset.
  • Experience in maintaining driver logs.
  • Knowledge of animal welfare procedures is an asset.
  • Strong team player with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines/goals.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Valid Nova Scotia driver’s license (Class 1) with Air Brakes endorsement.
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract.
  • Strong networking skills; builds and maintains trusting relationships with peers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Results-driven with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and driving improvements.
  • High performance team player; sets high standards, encourages open communication, and listens attentively.
