Eden Valley Poultry Incorporated is seeking a Moffett Forklift Operator to join our team. Reporting to the Live Haul Manager, you are responsible for loading and unloading modules of live poultry in accordance with animal welfare policies, practices, and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate a one-ton truck and trailer to transport poultry modules and forklift across NS and PEI.
  • Load, unload, and position poultry modules at barns and reload full modules for transport.
  • Perform equipment pre-checks and ensure timely poultry delivery to the plant.
  • Monitor poultry for humane handling during loading and transport.
  • Complete and maintain required paperwork accurately.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions.



Requirements:

  • Related experience in transportation or logistics required.
  • Proven experience driving a truck and trailer; poultry transport experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of animal welfare procedures is an asset.
  • Valid Nova Scotia Class 5 driver’s license with Trailer Endorsement.
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Strong team player with professional communication skills.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
  • Able to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible to work variable shifts (early mornings or late evenings), including weekends and holidays.
  • Willing to travel across NS and PEI as needed.
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions and around dust and animal waste.
